Fairyloot Unboxing March 2019

This is the unboxing of the March 2019 FairyLoot box. (What follows will contain spoilers so please do not read if you don't want to know what is in the box)

FairyLoot is a monthly book subscription box mainly focusing on fantasy YA and YA crossovers. Each month you receive a new release book, mostly hardback and 4-6 bookish items which fit in with the theme.

The theme this month was Favourites

The artwork on the spoiler card was really pretty, I love that she's in a library with little fairies and a bonus cat.

The first item I found was a beautiful scarf with book spines on it. It really is lovely and the material is nice. Sadly the one thing that let's it down is that there are *so* *many* spelling mistakes. This is becoming a bit of a theme for Fairyloot and I really think they need to look at their quality control measures.

Next there was pair of Alice in Wonderland themed socks and some page flags for tabbing books.

Next up there was a Strange the Dreamer quote on a golden metal bookmark and a purple 3rd Anniversary Fairyloot pin badge.

Last of the items was 3 art prints. These were from An Ember in the Ashes, The Cruel Prince and Warcross.

As always the box included the two latest tarot cards - this time they were characters from Six of Crows, Wylan and Jesper.

This month we had an extra book included and this was Viper by Bex Hogan, which was also signed.

The book this month was To Best the Boys by Mary Weber which was signed directly by the author, had grey sprayed pages and included an author letter with additional artwork.

Synopsis: 

Every year for the past fifty-four years, the residents of Pinsbury Port receive a mysterious letter inviting all eligible-aged boys to compete for an esteemed scholarship to the all-male Stemwick University. Every year, the poorer residents look to see that their names are on the list. The wealthier look to see how likely their sons are to survive. I thought this box was really good, I really liked the items and the extra book looks great. The only thing that really let this box down was the spelling errors. It is such a shame but it's happened so much lately that I really do think they need to start putting better checks in place. (Fairyloot have since announced on Twitter they will be correcting and replacing the item)
