This book was darker than the books I've read recently but it was very good. The idea that monsters come from violent acts was a very unique one and by focusing on one human and one monster and their interaction it allows us to understand the world from both sides.
What I found especially refreshing was that despite the two main characters being a male and a female there was no romance. They developed a friendship but there was never the implication that it would become more. For me this was very refreshing.
