Owlcrate Unboxing December 2019

In this post I am going to be unboxing the December 2019 Owlcrate. (What follows will contain spoilers so please do not read if you don't want to know what is in the box)

Owlcrate is a monthly book subscription box from the USA. Each month you receive a brand new young adult novel and 3-5 bookish items along with exclusive goodies from the author.

The theme this month was Tales of Trickery (Spoiler filled post under the cut)

The first thing I saw upon opening the box was the spoiler card which listed everything in the box on the back.

  

The first item I came across was a pair of earmuffs. The design was inspired by the roses in Caraval, they're nicely made but I don't wear earmuffs as they hurt my ears where my glasses sit.

Next up was a Mount Ruin candle (inspired by Grace and Fury) it had a really nice smell and reminded me of the chai tea latte from Starbucks. There was also a handwarmer with a little woollen pouch (inspired by Sky in the Deep).

Next up was a set of colouring pencils and a colouring book featuring the pin designs from 201 and a beautiful booksleeve with a quote from Sorcery of Thorns. I loved the booksleeve and cannot wait to put it to use.

The last item was the pin badge of the month which as usual related to the book included.

The book this month was The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White. This was signed by the author, had an exclusive cover, an embossed naked cover and came with a letter from the author.

Synopsis:

I thought this was a fairly good box. I was maybe expecting something a little more from their end of year box but overall it was good. I will use all the items other than the earmuffs and perhaps the colouring book.
