That would be simple enough, if it weren't for the renegade Knights and legendary Dashini assassins, getting in their way, not to mention the Dukes, who are desperate to hold on to their power at any cost, or Trin, the merciless daughter of the ruthless Duke of Rijou and the cruel Duchess of Hervor, who is determined to be Queen of Tristia. Of course, the fact that the heir to the throne is thirteen years old doesn't help, nor the fact that every day brings Falcio closer to dying from the poison running through his veins.

And then there is the Greatcoats Lament . . .

Review:
The second book in the Greatcoats quartet was so intense. There was such a great mix in here; moments that had me holding my breath, rolling my eyes as unwise choices were made, laughing at humorous lines and moments and then crying with despair for my beloved characters. I decided during the course of this book that Falcio needs wrapping up and protecting from the world. Sebastien de Castell has created a rich, vibrant world filled with wonderful characters with an incredible story. Once again I am left wanting to read more about the lives and adventures of Falcio, Kest, Brasti and the others.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.
