Review:
I don't know why but it did take me a while to get into this book. Once I did however I really enjoyed it and was hooked on the mystery of the island. I found Fionn's sister to be really quite annoying and unnecessarily bitchy at times. But then I don't have a sibling so close to my age so maybe this is just how it is. I do think this is on the younger side of middle grade which may account for why it took me a while to get into it. But having said that it deals well with some quite heavy and serious issues. I enjoyed all of the characters and have to admit got a little kick out of the antagonist's family name being 'Beasley' since that is my surname too.

I gave this book 3.5 out of 5 stars.
