I didn't think I could enjoy this book as much as I did the first one but OMG, I did. In fact I might even love it more. The characters from the first are back, along with new characters who I absolutely adore. This time around the book focuses on a magic competition which is being held in Red London and of course Lila can't resist coming back and taking part.
VE Schwab's writing is incredible, the world building is flawless, the magic system intricate and unique and her characters are fully formed and interesting. The storyline in this one was fun and I enjoyed every aspect of this book.
I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars and with that cliffhanger of an ending I started A Conjuring of Light straight away.
