Review:
This is the sequel to Forest of a Thousand Lanterns which was released last year. While Forest was a very dark tale Kingdom is lighter, there are dark elements but they aren't at the heart of this book.
It does start slowly, and the first few chapters are very much set up for Jade - who we only saw as a child in Forest. But once the story gets going it becomes a quest story which is entertaining and pulls you in completely. I really liked Jade as a character and her friends were also wonderful and full characters in their own right. A different but very enjoyable sequel.
