The situation is worsened by the gang of Desert Boys that frequently raids the city wells, forcing the king to ration what little water is left. In desperation, she turns to the desert and the one person she never thought she'd side with. What Kateri discovers twists her world-and her heart-upside down. Review:
This book focuses on Kateri who must fight to prove her worth as the next ruler, however when her last opponent is someone she knows she cannot win against she turns to the one person who can help her. Who also happens to be the leader of a group she swore to destroy. But as things progress it seems to Kateri that not everything is as she has been led to believe for her whole life and her enemy may be closer to home than she could have ever imagined.

Kateri was a strong vibrant character, she was very capable and resourceful but wasn't without the occasional moment of softness. I very much enjoyed her growth through the story. I also adored the range within the Desert Boys too and the slow reveals about them were very well done. The world Annie Sullivan creates in Tiger Queen is rich and vast and I fell deep into it. The writing is so spot on that I truly feel I get to know and care about all the characters she creates and I believe in them as I follow them on their journey. 

Overall I had a great time reading it and Annie has once again weaved a magical story that I believe everybody can and will enjoy.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Annie Sullivan is a Young Adult author from Indianapolis, Indiana. Her work has been featured in Curly Red Stories and Punchnels. She loves fairytales, everything Jane Austen, and traveling and exploring new cultures. When she’s not off on her own adventures, she’s teaching classes at the Indiana Writers Center and working as the Copy Specialist at John Wiley and Sons, Inc. publishing company, having also worked there in Editorial and Publicity roles.
