Review:
Elisabeth's world is thrown into confusion when someone releases a dangerous grimoire from the library which has always been her home, implicating her in the process. Now she must work out who to trust in her quest to discover what is happening. Could the sorcerer Nathaniel help her? Elisabeth has been told all her life that sorcerers are evil but the more time they spend together the more she wondered if that is really the whole truth.
Elisabeth is a wonderful character who shows incredible strength and determination as well as a great empathy and cleverness. Nathaniel was also an absolute delight, the humour he displays was particularly enjoyable. I even had some actual laugh out loud moments with his sarcastic and witty responses at times. And while I won't spoil anything I will say that Silas was a wonder and had more depth than I originally gave him credit for. His development was great and I loved how integral he was to the plot.
Overall this was a joy to read, it flowed really well and was just a pleasure. I am definitely going to be popping this author on my watch list and this book is going into my favourites of the year.
