Review:
This book is told from the point of view of two very different women Lena, a young worker accused of magic and on the run, and Constance, a mysterious woman who has returned to the land Lena has fled from. With a storm cloud threatening the land both women will need to work out what is needed of them to save their home and themselves.
Lena was a lovely character, she was very sweet and kind despite her hard background but she could also be determined and brave. Constance was far more mysterious and secretive, it was interesting to see how different the women were yet they both shared a sense of determination. The world and magic system was very creative and could have been confusing if not handled as well as it was here. The twists and turns made for a story I just wanted to keep reading and I did not see some of the surprises coming as the book developed.
Overall I had a great time reading it and for a debut novel I found it a solid enjoyable read from a promising author.
