The idea of this book and story is wonderful and I got thoroughly engrossed in it. The world is fascinating and I love the time period. Also despite it being short I felt like we got to know the main characters fairly well and fairly quickly. And I cannot wait to see how they develop as the series progresses.
I give this book between 3 1/2 stars purely because I felt it was almost like an introduction rather than the first in a series. But I very much enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading more.
