Book Box Club Unboxing January 2018

In this post I am going to be unboxing the January 2018 Book Box Club box. (What follows will contain spoilers so please do not read if you don't want to know what is in the box)

Book Box Club is a monthly book subscription box. Each month you receive a specially selected YA book release and 2-4 hand picked goodies which fit in with the theme. Book Box Club also hosts a members only online book club where subscribers get a chance to chat to each other as well as the author about the book.

The theme this month was Geeks Unite (Spoiler filled post under the cut)

The first thing I saw upon opening the box was the spoiler card which listed everything in the box.

The first item I found in the box was a geeky black tote bag and an unashamedly bookish calendar. The calendar was lovely and had 12 illustrations in it contributed by 12 Book Box Club artists from all over the world who had produced some really beautiful illustrations.

Next up was a badass magnet, nail wraps and a Fangirling candle. I love the magnet as it's a quote from the Shadowhunters series by Cassandra Clare and the candle smells amazing.

This month there was one additional item for those Book Box Club members who had received 10 or more boxes - this was my tenth so I got this gorgeous little pin. I adore it and think the design is really simple but pretty.

The book this month was The Fandom by Anna Day. The book also came with a signed bookplate.

Synopsis:

Violet and her friends love being part of the fandom for The Gallows Dance. But at Comic-Con, they’re somehow catapulted into the story itself – for real. Trapped in a twisted world where they’ve accidentally killed the original hero, Rose, there’s only one way to survive: Violet must fill Rose’s shoes and put the plot back on track. No story is worth dying for … is it?

I thought this box was really good, there was a nice selection of items. I won't use the nail wraps but they were cute. Overall I am pleased with it and think the book looks interesting.

December's box is called Into Dystopia and I am very much looking forward to it :)
