This is the unboxing of the August 2017 FairyLoot box. (What follows will contain spoilers so please do not read if you don't want to know what is in the box)
FairyLoot is a monthly book subscription box mainly focusing on fantasy YA and YA crossovers. Each month you receive a new release book, mostly hardback and 4-6 bookish items which fit in with the theme.
The theme this month was Otherworlds. (Spoiler filled post under the cut)
The first items I found in the box was a candle by Book and Nook, there were 5 possible candles and mine was Azareen which had a scent mixture of Lemon Verbena, Vanilla and Pears. There was also a Game of Thrones inspired tea strainer which is absolutely brilliant.
Next there was a notebook with a beautiful Peter Pan design on it by TJ Labrano along with 2 magnetic bookmarks from Lord of the Rings by Paperly & Co, there were 3 different sets sent out and I got Aragorn and Arwen.
Next up there was a Valaris necklace from Oh Panda Eyes and a sleeping mask by Fairyloot themselves.
The last item in the box was a Northern Lights artprint by Melissa Nettleship along with some publishing goodies including a Godsgrave sampler.
The book this month was Wicked like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic.
Synopsis:
All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.
But when their mother is mysteriously attacked, the sisters will have to unearth the truth behind the quiet lives their mother has built for them. They will discover a wicked curse that haunts their family line—but will they find that the very magic that bonds them together is destined to tear them apart forever?

Also included was a letter from the author and a signed bookplate.
I really loved this box. The items were bright, attractive and above all useful and I liked all of the fandoms included. The book looks really interesting and I am looking forward to reading it. Overall one of the strongest boxes in a while.
