Reading Quest Week 1 Wrap Up - August 13th to August 19th

The Reading Quest

Week 1 - Wrap Up

Between Sunday August 13th and Saturday August 19th I have managed to complete 4 books.

In order I completed them as follows:

I started with a side quest which was the MINI-GAME – this was read a graphic novel, novella or poem collection –

For this I read Star Wars Poe Dameron: Black Squadron by Various

Poe Dameron was my favourite character in The Force Awakens film and any chance to see more of him is good with me.
I gave this graphic novel 5 stars.

Next up I completed a challenge on the track which was to Read the 1st book of a series. I had originally planned to read The Novice but changed my mind and decided to try The Dark Tower: Gunslinger by Stephen King.

I was really disappointed with this book. It was boring and drawn out and I honestly didn't care about the main character because we hardly got to know him.
I gave this 2 stars.

Next I did another book on the main track which was read a book set in a different world for which I picked The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James.

I loved this book a lot. It was clever with great characters and incredible plot twists. I love the writing style and it was a very easy read but still intelligent and engaging.
I gave this book 5 stars.

My next book was going to be my 'Read Anything' but as I started reading it I realised it was set in the 1940's so I switched it and decided that for the side quest Time Warp – A book set in either the past or the future for which I read The Disappearances by Emily Bain Murphy.

I enjoyed this book a lot more than I honestly expected to. It did start a little slowly but once it got going it was very gripping. The mystery element is very well done and incredibly clever. I give this book 4 and a half stars.

So in my first week I have read 4 books of which 2 are from the main Mage track and 2 are side quests.

I am currently reading 2 more - 1 from the side quests and 1 from the main track and I am hoping to finish those in the next week and hopefully at least 1 more.
