Review:

I listened to this book on audio as well as reading alongside on my kindle, I very much enjoyed the audio narrator and she became Ruby's voice for me whenever I read without listening. This started out as I expected after reading the synopsis, a typical young outcast with powers trying to survive etc, but I found Ruby to be an engaging young woman who I was rooting for all the way through. I loved Arcus too and knew there was more to him than meets the eye. There were a few obvious moments but then also a few revelations which managed to surprise me. Overall it was a very fun and gripping read.

Star I gave this books 4 and a half out of 5, it wasn't perfect but it was very good and I am anticipating the next book.
